We are looking for an experienced Lecturer in Environmental Health.
The School of Life Sciences offers high quality teaching across a range of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes and has delivered a successful portfolio of UG and Degree Apprenticeship courses in Environmental Health for some time. We are now about to re-launch our Degree Apprenticeship programme and are therefore seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Environmental Health. This permanent post will be on a part-time (0.5 FTE) basis.
You will have previous teaching or training experience that will enable you to contribute to teaching & learning, assessment, quality enhancement and pedagogic research within the Department. We welcome applications from Environmental Health Practitioners or those from an active research background that fits with the School’s research strategy.
The post will specifically involve contributing to the development and delivery of undergraduate teaching of food hygiene, foodborne disease, legal aspects, and environmental health practice as it pertains to food standards. In addition, it will be desirable if you have experience of housing. You will be able to effectively deliver the key aspects of these disciplines through lectures, seminars, and practical classes and be committed to providing an excellent student experience.
Applicants should have a first degree in a related discipline and either a Master’s degree or a PhD, or be able to demonstrate significant professional practice experience. You will have achieved a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. FHEA or PGCertHE) or be willing to undertake such a qualification. Preferably, you will be registered with the CIEH or be a member of another relevant professional body. Good communication and organisational skills are essential attributes.
