This role provides a rare and exciting opportunity to join a motivated and innovative team of individuals, committed to the delivery of high-quality nursing education and related research activity. You will be based within the multi-professional School of Health Sciences, a vibrant and collaborative community, encompassing a variety of Allied Health Professions and Nursing programmes.

We are looking for an experienced and innovative mental health nurse academic with relevant experience in pre-registration mental health nursing teaching, assessment and associated research. The post requires an individual with well-developed communication and organisational skills, capable of effective inter-professional and cross boundary working. The successful candidate will predominantly work within the nursing team but will advocate for the promotion of education in mental health issues across the School of Health Sciences.

You should hold registration as a mental health nurse with the NMC and ideally a recognised teaching qualification. You will have educational experience of teaching at level 7 in a higher education institution. Knowledge of issues affecting mental health nurse education and a strong collaborative approach to learning delivery and assessment are essential. You should possess a Master’s degree in a relevant subject and evidence of undertaking professional CPD.   In addition, you will need to demonstrate evidence of research and scholarly activity within healthcare. You may be required to travel to different localities within the region, when required, to liaise with clinical partners.
