Vacancy terms: Part Time (0.5 FTE, 18.75hrs per week), permanent
Hours per week: 18.75
Advert closes midnight on: 23 Jun 2023
About the role
We are looking for a Lecturer to work within Leicester Medical School (LMS) to develop, implement, deliver and evaluate elements of teaching and assessment relating to the MBChB and BSc in Clinical Sciences. The BSc is a new degree based largely on our Phase 1 (pre-clinical) medical curriculum over the first two years, and completed with bespoke clinically orientated units and a project in year 3, all in association with our School of Biological Sciences and Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) partners as part of a Joint Educational Programme (JEP) with CQMU.
This offers unique opportunities and challenges – your main focus will be in supporting pedagogical research and strengthening research capacity within the Medical School and the JEP; teaching on the MSc in Clinical Education; and supporting staff (and staff project supervisors) and students – for their BSc Year 3 projects in particular – in the development of their research. There is also the possibility of travel to China to deliver teaching as part of a flying faculty team, typically for 4-5 weeks in the year, but to be planned in advance in discussion with the post-holder.
About you
We are looking for an individual who holds a PhD or a Medical Degree with evidence of post-graduate scholarship. The ideal candidate will have substantial work experience teaching at a higher educational institution or working within a clinical discipline.
Additional information
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Dr. Shameq Sayeed at ss1254@le.ac.uk.
