We are currently looking to expand our academic team within the Department of Biosciences, more specifically within our Biomedical Science Team. We are looking for an individual to contribute to our Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) accredited portfolio of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We will consider candidates with an NHS background and/or a strong research focus to deliver teaching in Clinical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Haematology, Transfusion Science or Cellular Pathology. Health and Care Professions council (HCPC) registration and/or active involvement with a professional body and/or a strong clinical focus, would support any application. We would look for candidates to demonstrate how this would in turn deliver teaching excellence and enhanced employability prospects for our students. We are keen to recruit individuals who have an enthusiastic approach to teaching and a strong focus on the student experience and graduate outcomes.

If you are in the early stages of an academic career and are considering joining NTU, then our Early Career Academic Development Programme could be just right for you.

If you are considering joining NTU as a Senior Lecturer you will benefit from our Senior Lecturer Career Framework, which recognises and rewards you based on your performance, contribution and achievement, and offers the opportunity of faster salary progression compared to the industry average.

The level of appointment would be determined by the selection panel following an interview.

How to Apply

Please apply online, submitting a single document to include a full CV, a Teaching Statement, a Practice, Scholarly or Research Statement and a Covering Letter addressing your suitability for the role outlined in the associated Job Description and Person Specification. If the 1MB file size restriction makes this difficult or impossible, please email all your supporting documentation to resourcing@ntu.ac.uk.

If you have any specific queries in relation to this position please contact Mike Palmer, Biomedical Science Courses Manager and Subject Lead mike.palmer@ntu.ac.uk or Mrs Beverley Peel, Deputy Head of Biosciences beverley.peel@ntu.ac.uk.

Interview Date: w/c 6 November 2023
