If you are an ambitious advanced practitioner or academic with a vision for advanced practice in the future, passionate about high quality teaching and supervision of the advanced practice workforce and keen to develop your academic and research portfolio with subject matter experts, then we’d welcome an application from you to join our team.

The School of Human and Health Sciences is the largest School at The University of Huddersfield and the Department of Nursing within the School, is fortunate to have wonderful practice partners throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region in primary/secondary care and third sector organisations.

The new National Health Innovation Campus will contain state of the art facilities for the Department of Nursing and local practice partners to deliver modern healthcare that serves the local communities. The Daphne Steele Building is the first building on the campus to be constructed and is due to be open in September 2024.

You will join the Department of Nursing and teach across the advanced practice apprenticeship and traditional courses, alongside contributing to the postgraduate and undergraduate portfolio of the School of Human and Health Sciences.

The advanced practice course at The University of Huddersfield has the additional appeal of specialist routes for advanced practitioner trainees in cancer care, critical care, emergency care, mental health care and primary care. We are a multidisciplinary course that is accredited with NHSE’s Centre for Advancing Practice.

The academic team are research active and through their work in the Huddersfield Advanced Practice Network contribute to the transfer of knowledge regionally, nationally, and globally.

You will have a master’s degree and demonstrable teaching experience in advanced practice, or a relevant healthcare degree, together with subject expertise in advanced practice clinically.

You will be able to demonstrate that you can support students through a range of methods and strategies, to ensure a high-quality learning experience.

With a PhD in a relevant area (or commitment to commence doctoral studies within 2 years of appointment), you will have a track record of research outputs and disseminating expert knowledge through varied media.

The University and the advanced practice academic team are committed to fostering a supportive and happy workplace, come and join us to develop your knowledge and skills with the advanced practice experts.
