The Institute of Applied Health Sciences undertakes pioneering clinical research on Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Pain.
We have a vibrant programme which includes all aspects of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, focusing on pain management. We also assess the effectiveness of interventions through observational studies, trials and evidence synthesis. We are currently developing major programmes of research in transforming perioperative health services. We now seek someone with expertise in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, pain science, but also epidemiology and health services research, to join our team.
The team closely collaborates with active NHS research staff and trainees from the Department of Anaesthesia, NHS Grampian, which includes more than 100 staff members, and has a rich teaching programme and an expanding scientific output. We collaborate with national and international organisations and host the Pain and Opioids after Surgery (PANDOS) research group, funded by the European Society for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) (Chair: Professor Patrice Forget, Clinical Chair in Anaesthesia).
This post represents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join researchers within the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS), School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN) which is currently highly rated in all national league tables.
