The role
The School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (depending on experience) with a commitment to educational excellence and to further strengthen its internationally competitive research base in Cancer Biology.
Research in the School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM) is focused on Cancer Biology, Infection and Immunity, and Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells with a strong international track record in all these areas, including for translational work.
We are seeking to build capacity in innovative approaches for studying tumour development in vivo and ex vivo. We would welcome applicants with interests in early tumour development, cell plasticity and cancer risk, who make use of organoid models. Ideally, applicants will have an interdisciplinary research portfolio combining basic cancer biology with epidemiological and population-based investigations and a strong track record of successful collaborative research.
The position will be based in the Biomedical Sciences Building with access to outstanding core facilities (including Proteomics, Imaging, Genomics, Bioprinting and Flow Cytometry).

What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will bring a creative high impact research programme to undertake internationally competitive research supported by external funding. They will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School and across the Faculty of Life Sciences in the area of Cancer Biology. With over 30 research groups in the School working in cancer biology, infection and immunity, regenerative medicine and stem cell biology, and close relationships with other Schools within the University, there are extensive opportunities for collaboration within a world-class research environment.

The successful applicant will be a research leader with a proven international track record commensurate with experience. We encourage applicants that complement and enhance current School activities in Cancer Biology (research and teaching) and have the potential to collaborate with aspects of our other research themes in Infection and Immunity (incorporating bacteriology, immunology, and virology) and Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells. Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students is required.
