This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated, collegiate, and productive candidate to further develop their career in a teaching-focussed role. The role will primarily, but not exclusively, contribute to postgraduate teaching activities on our MSc Health Psychology programme, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). 

We are looking for a high-quality individual who brings expertise in teaching in health psychology, with preference given to applicants that are (or who have the necessary qualifications and experience to be) Full Members of the BPS Division of Health Psychology and/or registered as practitioner health psychologists with the Health and Care Professions Council. 

Candidates will join the Aberdeen Health Psychology Group, which is a key part of the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) leading and supporting medical and health research in a wide range of priority areas. Aberdeen has a rare combination of internationally recognised strengths in biomedical and population-based health research and robust partnerships exist between clinical academics, medical scientists, health service researchers and colleagues in the healthcare professions in primary and secondary care.   

The post will be based within the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS): one of five Institutes within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill campus. 

The post holder will join the Health Psychology Group https://www.abdn.ac.uk/iahs/research/health-psychology/index.php. The successful applicant will contribute to the scholarship and teaching activities of the IAHS with a particular focus on the development and delivery of teaching and learning activities in Health Psychology.

Lecturers will be appointed at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 scale,  £44,414 – £52,841 per annum,  which is negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Senior Lecturers will be appointed at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 scale,  £56,048 – £63,059 per annum,  which is negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
