The role for each post is to provide a research-informed, personalised learning experience for students enrolled on the Occupational Therapy Programmes.  The post will also require the use of an active blended learning approach, delivering largely face to face sessions and online on occasion where a virtual learning environment will enhance delivery.  

Providing student support, supervision of undergraduate dissertations, and liaison with professional colleagues across the faculty is also expected.  Effective communication and organisation skills will be required to deliver teaching in line with university policy and practice and to actively contribute to the faculty’s inter-professional education activities. The post also involves supporting clinicians who provide placements for our students.

The fixed term post a full-time post, 5 days per week, typically Monday to Friday. The working day is typically 0900 – 1700, to accommodate the delivery of the student learning programme.

The 0.5 FTE post will fall across 3 days (2 full days and one half day) per week, working days to be negotiated with the successful applicant. There is an expectation for all members of staff to support an occasional Saturday or evening event for Applicant Open Days or Marketing events.

About you

You will have experience in occupational therapy practice, possess up-to-date subject knowledge and bring relevant specialist knowledge and insight into the subject area. You will be forward thinking, able to network effectively and have a commitment to the research agenda.  You will have relevant experience of education and facilitating student learning experience in innovative and creative ways.  You will have the ability to implement quality assurance processes and manage multiple priorities to meet set deadlines.

You will have experience of working in a health, social care or other contemporary setting as an Occupational Therapist. Experience in patient handling would enhance your application for the post.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Relevant professional qualification (HCPC registered)
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale

Desirable;

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
