About ARU:
We are ranked in the world’s top 350 institutions in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and we are a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. Our research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world-leading. In 2021, we were awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our world-leading music therapy work.

About the role:
The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care is the largest of the University’s four faculties. The Faculty has four schools including a School of Medicine; a School of Nursing and Midwifery in Cambridgeshire; a School of Nursing and Midwifery in Chelmsford; and a School of Allied Health and Social Care. The faculty is the largest provider of health and social care programmes in the UK. The core aim of the faculty is partnership working, being responsive to national policy and the needs of our local partner provider organisations. We are known regionally and nationally for the quality of our education, research and knowledge exchange activities and our impact on the region’s health, social care and education workforce, its community, and its economy. We draw upon the strengths of the broad range of disciplines and structure within the faculty, which mirrors our partner provider networks.

We provide ground-breaking research within our Vision and Eye Research Institute, our Veterans and Families Research Institute, the Medical Technology Research Centre, and in our research groups. We have a developing clinical trials unit and an internationally recognised NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, which drives innovation in the health service.

We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our academic team in the School of Allied Health to contribute to teaching and to coordinate the delivery and growth of our research and knowledge exchange opportunities.

With a degree plus a PhD or Professional Doctorate, or near completion (within 18 months), with relevant professional registration (e.g., HCPC, GMC). The successful candidate will be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience of successful innovative curriculum design and/or teaching at Higher Education level would be desirable.

Informal enquiries can be made to Nicky Milner Deputy Head of School – Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine at nicky.milner@aru.ac.uk.
