Philippines got things going first with a historic goal from Sarina Bolden as she knocked in a perfect header, the first-ever goal scored by the Philippines in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

New Zealand had a few goal attempts in the first half, but Philippines was able to hold them off taking a 1-0 lead into the break.
