The University of Birmingham (UoB), School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoN&M) has expanded its undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio and we want to ensure our students are transformed through the high-quality teaching and learning they experience. To achieve this, we are expanding our clinical skills and simulation teaching team across all fields of nursing. We wish to attract individuals from either adult, mental health, child, or dual-qualified field of practice registrants who are committed to supporting the development of the next generation of registered nurses.

The school offers a range of routes leading to registration including a three-year Bachelor of Nursing, a four-year Master of Nursing (single as well as dual field qualification), and a two-year postgraduate MSc programme.  We also offer a range of programmes aimed at qualified practitioners including Advanced Clinical Practice, independent prescribing, and MSc Midwifery.

We seek to attract graduate adult, mental health or child NMC registered nurses who are committed to education and professional development. You will support the design, delivery, evaluation, and assessment of the undergraduate and postgraduate clinical skills and simulated practice teaching; and will work together with academic and professional services colleagues to develop online learning resources and assessments to support skill enhancement and simulation-based learning. In addition to this, you will be required to support pre-registration student nurses within the clinical practice setting as part of the dedicated education Hub.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor degree in a healthcare or cognate discipline.

If new to higher education successful applicants will be encouraged to pursue a Higher Education Academy approved postgraduate qualification in health professional education.
