A postdoctoral research associate is sought by the Glyco-oncology Research Group in the Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Systems Biology.

You will undertake a translational project funded by MRC and the Wellcome Trust to investigate effects of new therapeutic agents on tumour growth and metastasis using in vivo and ex vivo models. You will also be involved in analysing galectin levels in plasma samples from Huntington’s disease patients.

Candidates with good experience in studying tumour growth and metastasis using in vivo or ex vivo models are essential. Past experience in analysing patients’ samples by ELISA is advantageous.

This post is available on a fixed term basis from 1 August 2023 for ten months and is suitable for a candidate with PhD in any relevant area in biological/biomedical sciences.

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award
