We are seeking a highly motivated Health Data Scientist or Biostatistician to join the UK’s only ‘Experimental Arthritis Treatment Centre for Children (EATC4Children)’ (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/eatc-for-children/ based at the Institute in the Park at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool. You will be working on an innovative programme of work called TARGET LUPUS (Targeting disease, Agreeing Recommendations and reducing Glucocorticoids through Effective Treatment, in LUPUS), which aims to develop a Treat to Target (T2T) clinical trial for Childhood-onset Lupus (cSLE, also known as Juvenile SLE).
The post is funded by the Medical Research Foundation, and your role will be to interrogate a large longitudinal UK JSLE Cohort Study dataset to expand the evidence base informing the future T2T clinical trial. You will work closely with the EATC4Children team and the International cSLE T2T Task Force. You will also work with a senior Bayesian methodology expert, assisting in establishing the Bayesian Prior distribution for the effectiveness of T2T in JSLE.
If appointed at Grade 6 you will have a MSc in Health Data Science (or related discipline with substantial component of Health Data Science). At Grade 7 you will have a PhD in Health Data Science (or related discipline with substantial component of Health Data Science).

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
