The role

Are you a research leader in genetic epidemiology, leading a programme of research in behavioural and social factors that influence health and social outcomes? Do you have a passion for inspiring and leading the next generation of research leaders? The Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol has a new senior post at professorial level to strengthen and further develop our already impressive research programmes.

This post will join a rich research environment in the School of Population Health Sciences with the opportunity to build your research portfolio in conjunction with the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (MRC IEU). You will also have the opportunity to work with the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR Bristol BRC) and the Centre for Academic Mental Health. Recent renewals of both the MRC IEU and the NIHR Bristol BRC offer the opportunity to align your research with these world-class centres of excellence and influence priorities for future strategic initiatives. 

What will you be doing?

You will develop and lead a substantial programme of research that uses large-scale social and biomedical data to answer key questions about population health of social relevance. Your research programme will produce evidence to improve intervention discovery and inform policy and practice.
