Applicants are sought for this new leadership role within the Medical Education Centre in the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham. 

As Professor of Medical Education and Director of Quality and Governance, you will make a significant leadership contribution to the running of the undergraduate medicine programmes at the University of Nottingham, ensuring the quality of the programmes and providing an excellent student experience. In this role, you will provide academic leadership and guidance to a team of educators and administrators in the Medical School and to our NHS partner Local Education Providers (LEPs). You will be responsible for the quality assurance of the undergraduate medicine courses, liaising with the General Medical Council and Health Education England, to ensure our course meets all the requirements of our professional, regulatory and statutory bodies.

The major focus of this role will be on quality assurance and governance but you will have other leadership responsibilities and will contribute to the strategic planning of the Education Centre within the School of Medicine, reporting directly to the Dean of Education. 

Candidates must have a relevant PhD in a biomedical specialty or medical education and a HE teaching qualification or recognition against UKPSF at least to Fellowship of Advance HE level. Where appropriate, candidates must have membership of a professional body and must also be eligible to reside & work in the UK. 

This post is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). However, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum of 29 hours). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
