We have an opportunity for a Research Assistant/Associate to join the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) and play a leading role in a research programme focussed on understanding the determinants of virulence of SARS-CoV-2.

The aim of the programme, funded by the Wellcome Trust within the context of the G2P-2 Global Consortium, is to assess virulence of variants, determinants of virulence and identify virus and host factors influencing virus pathogenesis. The programme bridges in silico, in vitro and in vivo experiments exploring different facets of virus-host interactions.

The successful candidate will have research experience in either molecular virology or virus-host interactions and will be expected to contribute /to make a leading contribution to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project, as opportunities allow.
