This Research Assistant role represents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a leading applied health and social care research unit. The post is initially for two years but is renewable depending on future funding. the Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) has a wide portfolio of research projects delivered through local, national and international collaborations. Based in the Division of Social Sciences, Law and Journalism the centre is one of three specialist research units with an excellent track record in health and social care research.
As a Research Assistant you will :
- Assist in qualitative and quantitative research including helping to prepare, setup, conduct the research and contribute to writing the report of project assignments
- Assist in the undertaking of literature reviews, rapid reviews and database searches
- Make use of standard research techniques and methods
- Deal with any problems which may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
- Contribute to the analysis and interpretation the results of own research
- Support the involvement and engagement of the public and patients in research and associated activities
To be successful in the is role you will/ be :
- A postgraduate qualification in social sciences, public health or health services research or related area (or equivalent )
- Have a good understanding of UK social care services
- Have previous experience of undertaking literature reviews
- Previous experience of undertaking individual and focus group interviews
