We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated research assistant to join our research into cardiovascular diseases and anaemia. You will play a key role in this exciting new research activity to test a new medical device that non-invasively measures clinical characteristics of the microvasculature and the blood in healthy volunteers and pregnant women. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple projects and take an active role in recruiting participants, scheduling and carrying out participant screening and study assessments, logging and cleaning data. The study will require adherence to Good Clinical Practice and liaison with medical and nursing professionals.
This post is funded by the Medical Research Council and Medical and Life Sciences Translational Fund. It offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant multi-disciplinary team that crosses the domains of clinical imaging and clinical translation in a world-leading research environment. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential in order to make a strong contribution to the project.
You will be an active team member working with other research assistants, DPhil students, post-doctoral researchers, contributing to the dynamic and fast-moving research environment. You will also collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles. Attend relevant project meetings, workshops and conferences as necessary.
You are required to hold a relevant degree together with relevant research experience and have a strong interest in translational cardiovascular research. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment on a fixed term contract for 1 year and you will be based at the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility, Level 1, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3
