About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work within the NIHR and Diabetes UK co-funded MiFoot programme of research. The £2.2m MiFoot programme is led by Professor Kamlesh Khunti and is a collaboration between the University of Leicester, University Hospitals of Leicester and University and NHS Trusts in London, Derby, Sheffield and Glasgow. The overarching aim of the MiFoot project is to develop and evaluate a complex multifactorial intervention to improve cardiovascular outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes and current or previous diabetic foot ulcers.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of research activities within the MiFoot programme, with a specific focus on assisting in the set up and delivery of a multi-site randomized control trial, and supporting trial data collection whilst working in a large team of researchers, research managers and clinicians. You will also support with the management of the overall programme of research, including assisting with the development of key funder and progress reports and assisting the Programme Manager to ensure that overall programme and specific project timelines are adhered to. You may also work within the wider NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands team, directed by Professor Khunti, in order to support the delivery of the wider programme of research.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in supporting research projects within either a University or healthcare environment. Strong communication skills are essential, so you are able to work effectively with researchers, healthcare workers and members of the community from various countries and institutions. You will be an effective planner, able to support a large team working on several concurrent work programmes, and prioritise activities in order to meet key programme timelines as well as being highly organised, supporting the Programme Manager to ensure that the programme meets its objectives and that all reporting requirements are met.
