The University of Manchester has a vacancy for a Research Assistant / Research Associate (Qualitative) to play a vital role on a prestigious NIHR Programme Grant entitled “Prevention of Suicide in Prisons: Enhancing Access to Therapy” (PROSPECT). The primary objective of the PROSPECT project is to improve, and subsequently evaluate, access to a psychological therapy programme for prisoners identified to be at risk of suicide (Chief Investigator: Dr Daniel Pratt). The qualitative researcher will join an exciting research team on the PROSPECT study.
We are seeking an innovative, motivated and capable individual interested in the advancement of offender health. Skills in qualitative research methods and analysis are essential as will be the personal qualities of resilience, accuracy and flexibility. Experience of undertaking qualitative research/clinical interviews in mental health / criminal justice will be an advantage, with experience in implementation science or process evaluation particularly desirable.
The post holder will be based at the University of Manchester, but will spend significant periods in venues across the North of England and so independent means of travel is essential. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
