About us
The POWER study, Protecting women from economic shocks to fight HIV in Africa, is based on the assumption that financial needs, alongside biological susceptibility, are the main cause of HIV acquisition among young women in Africa. POWER is the first randomised controlled trial that aims to test the effectiveness and value for money of the prevention of economic shocks as a way to prevent risky sexual practices of young women in Africa.
About the role
The post include conducting econometric analysis using cross sectional and longitudinal data sets including causal mediation analysis. Perform cost-effectiveness analysis using data from mathematical modelling and participating in dissemination and advocacy activities and write-up results. PhD degree awarded or submitted or equivalent experience in sexual health, digital health and/or global health and development or similar for application to UCL Grade 7 A MSc degree in Economics, preferably obtained with distinction Experience in working on global health and HIV Excellent quantitative analysis skills This role is an open-ended contract with a funding end date of March 2026.
About you
The Postholder will provide research assistance to the principal investigator, which includes the analysis of the POWER data and drafting of research papers. You are expecting to have excellent statistical skills and experience in writing research papers. The appointee will be required to conduct analysis of quantitative data.
