We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Research Associate to develop their career whilst conducting important digital health research. You will join the Digital Health and Social Care Research Group, based at the University of Manchester. Building on extensive research capacity and capability in digital health, we seek a researcher interested in developing work in mobile health applications and co-designing these types of technologies with patients and service users.

Applicants are encouraged from a people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences of different settings and from disciplines including but not limited to healthcare professionals, primary care, public health, social sciences, computer sciences, and health research methodologists.

You will work with Dr Siobhán O’Connor, Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Dr Alan Davies, Senior Lecturer in Health Data Science as well as other members of the Digital Health and Social Care Research Group and across the wider faculty. You will be based in the in the School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. This is a full-time, hybrid working post with an office base at the University of Manchester campus on Oxford Road.

You will hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area and have an interest in and emerging track record of excellence in digital health research. You will have experience of using quantitative, qualitative research or mixed methods, critical appraisal and evidence synthesis in literature reviewing and proven research productivity. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work well both in a team and using your own initiative. The capacity to develop productive working relationships with external stakeholders in the health and care sector is also essential.
