We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to investigate pathways by which neurons remove aggregated proteins.

 

The successful candidate will have access to results from CRISPR screens, established iPSC-based models and tools such as PROTACs and novel antibodies. As such, the post will offer an excellent opportunity for mechanistic research and drug target identification in Parkinson’s disease using state-of-the-art models and facilities available at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery and Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford. The post-holder with also benefit from and work alongside a multidisciplinary team in the Molecular Neurodegeneration Research Group. You will have an aptitude for mechanistic studies with a proven track record of research in cellular and molecular biology as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, and the enthusiasm to lead a project as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team.  A less experienced candidate may be appointed at Grade 6 (£31,502 to £37,386) per annum, with a commensurate adjustment in either the essential criteria, responsibilities or duties.

 

This post is full time and fixed term for 2 years.
