We are seeking to appoint a statistician to join the Centre for Health Informatics and Statistics (CHICAS, chicas.lancaster-university.uk) at the Lancaster University Medical School. You will work with Dr Claudio Fronterre on a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. The project aims to provide more accurate and up-to-date field-derived data on variations in exposure driven by blackfly biting, parity, and infection rates across different spatial scales.
This post is for the duration of 2 years and is focused on the development and application of spatial and spatio-temporal statistical methods for the analysis of blackflies distribution in collaboration with partners at University of Greenwich (Dr. Frances Hawkes and Prof. Robert Cheke) and Imperial College (Prof. Maria-Gloria Basanez).
Applicants should hold an MSc or equivalent in statistics, epidemiology or a related quantitative discipline. For appointment at Grade 7 (Senior Research Associate) they should hold a PhD and demonstrate experience in the application of geospatial statistical methods.
We are open to discussing job share/part-time working and flexible working arrangements including working week and days/hours worked and flexible start and finish times.
