The Institute for Lifecourse Development works with our extensive network of external partners to focus our interdisciplinary expertise. The Institute is a key anchor resource where professionals, researchers and stakeholders from public, charitable and voluntary organisations can work together to develop effective lifecourse solutions, tackling the challenges that society faces through effective research, training and practice. The successful applicant will work with existing staff to build upon the interdisciplinary expertise within the Faculty within the disciplines of Sociology, Psychology, Health, Social Care and Education.  

You will be working with a range of high-quality researchers under the leadership of an ILD Professor. We are specifically looking for researchers whose interests and expertise lie in areas relevant to Centres within the ILD. An interest in ageing and/or dementia, creative research methods, or understanding place and space may be advantageous.

The Fellowship offers:

  • Competitive salary (AC2), following the University’s Research Career Pathway
  • Extensive career development support through the ILD and GRE Research and Enterprise Training Institute

Candidates will be assessed on their track record relative to their career stage, personal aspirations and collaborative potential to the existing research excellence within the recruiting unit.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • An outstanding track record of research, including high-quality publications, research funding and/or prizes and awards
  • Evidence of a growing reputation, both nationally and internationally
  • An aptitude to lead and inspire others within the Centre, Institute and University more broadly
  • Potential to act as an ambassador in their research field
