We are looking for a 0.18 FTE Research Fellow in Creative Global Health to work on a project to increase understanding of the lived experience of individuals and communities affected by alcohol harm in Nepal through an innovative partnership between UCL, WHO Nepal and other collaborators. The Research Fellow will co-produce with the project team a Rapid Evidence Review on a range of alcohol research, policy and community work in Nepal. This review will explore Nepali communities’ experience of alcohol use and alcohol interventions. This post will provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to this unique project. This project is led by Dr Ranjita Dhital, UCL Arts and Sciences Department in collaboration with Dr Joanna Morrison and Dr Naomi Saville, UCL Institute for Global Health; WHO Nepal; Professor Jacqueline Sin, City, University of London; Creative Nepal: Arts Health Community; and other partners. This work is funded by Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) (Grant Reference AH/X003973/1). The post holder will be involved in disseminating the review’s findings through journal publication(s); communication to relevant organisations; and support the development of other creative outputs.

This post is available from 1 August 2023 to 31 January 2024.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

Applicants will hold a Bachelor’s degree qualification in a health, social sciences or an arts related subject and hold, or be near to completion, a PhD in a relevant discipline. It is essential applicants have at least 2 years’ experience and demonstrable knowledge of the arts and health field, as well as experience of conducting rapid evidence reviews / systematic and / or scoping / narrative reviews / other types of evidence reviews. Applicants should also have experience of policy analysis work and / or relevant public engagement work. All project work will be conducted in English, however, understanding of spoken or written Nepali is desirable.
