The role

The post holder will work with surgical academics and the Bristol Surgical Trials Centre to contribute to the design and conduct of new RCTs in surgery, including any necessary preliminary preparatory work.

What will you be doing?

  • Co-ordinating the writing of grant proposals for surgical RCTs and pre-trial work
  • Working with a variety of people including triallists, methodologists, clinicians, patients
  • Identifying appropriate sources of funding
  • Leading study write-ups in peer reviewed journals
  • Contributing to dissemination of study findings

You should apply if

You have:

  • Previous experience of leading either quantitative or qualitative data collection or analysis (or both), preferably in a trials setting
  • Strong publication record
  • Experience of undertaking systematic literature reviews
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to lead teams and work within them

Additional information

Contract type: Open-ended with fixed funding for 24 months

Work pattern: Full Time / 1 FTE

Shift pattern: 35 hours per week
