Contract type: Full Time or Part Time – This post is available 100% FTE (35 hours per week) or 80% FTE (28 hours per week)
Fixed term contract for 2 years
The Centre for Population Health Sciences at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for an experienced qualitative researcher who has a background in health and/or applied social science research. The post holder will work on a Diabetes UK funded study which seeks to understand inequalities in access to diabetes technology between children and young people from affluent and deprived backgrounds and those from White and minority ethnic groups. As part of a broader study, the post holder will conduct and analyse in-depth interviews with healthcare professionals and service commissioners and support development of training materials to promote access that is more equitable. There will also be opportunities to contribute to other diabetes-related projects.
The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to develop or consolidate a career in applied health research. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant area (or equivalent experience). A willingness and ability to work flexible hours (e.g. evenings) is essential. To attract the strongest possible applicant, we are offering this post 100% or 80% FTE. We will also consider applications from individuals who wish to work remotely.
