Are you interested in applying your statistical or mathematical training to health or social care? Would you like to be involved in a prestigious trials methodology research grant on adapting and evaluating early phase statistical methods and/ or novel multi-phase optimisation methods to the surgical environment? Would you like to work in a highly successful, ‘impressive and inspirational’ clinical trials unit, joining a team of over 30 medical statisticians?

This is a unique opportunity to join a strategically important research group. You will be a highly talented, inquisitive and enthusiastic individual with a good understanding of statistical methodology relevant to clinical trials.

You will be interested in pursuing a career in medical statistics and will work on the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Professorship ‘SIGMA-S’ project: “Statistical Innovation and Guidance on Methods and Analysis in Surgery, adapting and evaluating early phase statistical methods and/ or novel multi-phase optimisation methods to the surgical environment.”

The Clinical Trials Research Unit within the Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research (LICTR) is an international leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit is one of the largest in the UK and conducts national and international randomised and early phase clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields.

Our main aim is to develop and support novel and efficient trials to change clinical practice for the better. Our past results and current research have already helped to do this.
