Full time, 35 hours per week (part time considered)

Fixed term for 12 months

We are looking for a dedicated Scientific Communications Officer to promote and support the University’s world-leading research on Brain Small Vessel Diseases, a major cause of stroke and dementia, centred through the Row Fogo Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain.

The opportunity:

The post-holder will be responsible for promoting the research, including to clinicians, the public and policy-makers, via the Row Fogo Centre, maintaining our websites and social media platforms and raising awareness of our work via engagement activities. Experience of the field, scientific communication and website design are required.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Minimum qualification at Masters level in either the Neurosciences, or a related subject
  • Clear evidence of interest in brain small vessel diseases, stroke and dementia
  • Experience of website design, maintenance and familiarity with social media channels, and scientific referencing systems.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for scientific communication and engagement.
