The Macao Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine, University of Macau (MCTCM), endorsed by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR and supported by the Macao SAR government, is a technical support unit of the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau. Qualifications

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the field of Chinese Medicines, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis or related disciplines, and master’s degree or above is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive teaching and testing experience in method development and validation in Chinese medicines. Good verbal and written communication in English and Chinese is required. A commitment to provide service to MCTCM and the University of Macau will be highly considered. The successful candidate is expected to plan, initiate, manage and implement the testing related matters under ISO/IEC 17025, including but not limited to standard operating procedures (SOP) guidelines set up and review, internal audit and external quality control (proficiency testing, laboratory comparison), as well as operations of the laboratories. This position will also initiate testing plan according to the laboratory resource, method validation, data analysis and testing advice, develop and validate physical, chemical tests for Chinese medicines, and conduct tests for Chinese medicines according to Pharmacopoeia and instruct the inspectors to complete the full inspection of Chinese medicines (physical and chemical testing). 

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2024 or as soon as possible. 

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP541,450 (approximately USD66,850) will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
