Since its inception in 2015, the School of Medicine has grown significantly, with now more than 1,500 UK and international students studying on a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to join our team in the Post graduate area, leading our Medical Leadership programme and contributing into other areas across our growing postgraduate offering including domains such as Medical Education, Sports Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Mountain Medicine, Urgent Care, Disaster Medicine and MSK programmes.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the current teams to lead the medical leadership programme and to contribute to wider cross programme leadership elements specifically the successful candidate will lead in areas of course delivery, management and development in the field and will make a major contribution to achieving the academic objectives of the subject group through scholarly activity, research outputs and knowledge transfer activities.
You will contribute where possible to engagement with stakeholders’ and postgraduate development through business planning, approval, validation, implementation, review, and evaluation of potential new programmes for the area.
Applicants must be enthusiastic and visionary with demonstrable evidence of relevant course delivery and leadership with hopefully external esteem through publications/research/practice dissemination and be able to evidence contribution to master’s level supervision and research training.
The successful applicant will have a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area and will hold Professional teaching qualifications or membership of the HE Academy. They will have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a political awareness and ability to build and maintain effective corporate relationships. Strong organisational skills are required for this post, with the determination, drive and resilience to see processes through to completion and to the right level of detail.
