Senior Lecturer in Sport and Musculoskeletal Medicine at University of Central Lancashire

Since its inception in 2015, the School of Medicine has grown significantly, with now more than 1,500 UK and international students studying on a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to join our team in the field of Performance and Rehabilitation Medicine which incorporates our growing postgraduate Sports Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine and MSK programmes.

 The postholder will work in conjunction with the current Academic Lead to contribute to, and lead in areas of course delivery, management and development in the field of Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine within the School of Medicine at UCLan and will make a major contribution to achieving the academic objectives of the subject group of Performance and Rehabilitation Medicine and the School of Medicine through scholarly activity, research outputs and knowledge transfer activities

 You will contribute where possible to engagement with stakeholders’ and postgraduate development through business planning, approval, validation, implementation, review, and evaluation of potential new programmes for the area.

 Applicants must be enthusiastic and visionary with demonstrable experience of the leadership and management of relevant courses including the quality assurance and enhancement in Higher Education, including validation and review processes. Candidates must have experience of working with Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies in health and education and be able to evidence contribution to master’s level supervision and research training.

 The successful applicant will have a good honours degree in a relevant area and will hold Professional teaching qualifications or membership of the HE Academy. They will have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a political awareness and ability to build and maintain effective corporate relationships. Strong organisational skills are required for this post, with the determination, drive and resilience to see processes through to completion and to the right level of detail.
