The University of Worcester is a high achieving, award-winning, dynamic institution set within an inclusive and engaged community. The number one University in England for gender equality, according to the last three years of the Times Higher Education’s University Impact Rankings, with multiple accolades for teaching quality, inclusion, contribution to the community, and environmental sustainability, the University has been shortlisted as Times Higher Education University of the Year three times in recent years.  One of the best Universities for health education, Worcester has created the distinctive Three Counties Medical School (TCMS), aiming to widen access to careers in medicine and retain graduates in the local area.

This is an exciting time to join the University, as the MSc Physician Associate Programme which has been successfully running for a number of years at the University, has recently moved Schools to join the new Three Counties Medical School, aligning the courses requiring GMC regulation.

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer (Teaching) with the vision, commitment and academic ambition and capacity to contribute to the development of clinical placements and the delivery of Physician Associate education.

You should be a clinician, and this can be from any appropriate discipline (Physician Associate, Nursing, Allied Health or a doctor). You need to be clinically knowledgeable having at least two years post qualification experience, and be registered with the appropriate regulatory body. It is expected that you enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and have a passion for developing and teaching healthcare students. You will be required to support Physician Associate students academically and in practice, this will include practice visits to ensure the achievement of the Physician Associate standards and to support the placement educators. You will be part of an innovative and supportive team that focuses on the educational needs of its students utilising innovative teaching methodologies. In addition, you will provide academic support at programme level and, co-ordinate, develop and supervise a range of activities effectively as module lead.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician interested in educational scholarship to develop their educational skills, with further academic development opportunities available to help your development as an academic in Higher Education.

This is a full time permanent Senior Lecturer post on the Physician Associate Programme.

What’s in it for you?
