Job Summary

This appointment has been developed to support high quality teaching of undergraduate medical students at the University of Buckingham Medical School during the first two years (Phase I) of the curriculum. The post has no fixed term contract and is suitable for clinicians who wish to participate in undergraduate medical education as part of their career. Sessions are offered to meet the needs of the School and could range from one session per week for twelve consecutive weeks to a more ad hoc arrangement.

Role Purpose

Although an enthusiasm for teaching is essential, no formal knowledge of educational theory or practice is required. Hands-on teaching will be central to the post.

Sessions are either am and/or pm (usually four-hour sessions) and are currently paid at £100 per session.

Skills & Experience

You must hold full GMC licence to practice registration and have the Right to Work in the UK. We are unable to offer a Certificate of sponsorship route for a visa.

The University of Buckingham created the UK’s first independent, not-for-profit, Medical School in 2015. Our guiding philosophy is to produce highly ethical, honest, and compassionate doctors who will put the patient first. We now have an intake of around 80 students per year on the four-and-a-half-year course. We received our GMC accreditation in May 2019 and our first intake at our sister campus in Buckingham who graduated in June 2019, took up their Foundation Training in August 2019.
