We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a within the Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS) in our Surgical Skills Centre, to develop and deliver simulation-based education for MBChB students and postgraduate programmes in surgical training.
This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months.
The aim of this post is to provide a trainee, with an interest in education, the opportunity to develop as a medical educator within the exciting field of surgical simulation. We envisage this to be a twelve-month post aimed at those who wish to build on their personal teaching experience to develop expertise in educational theory and practice and undertake supervised educational research.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Develop knowledge in the principles of design and development of education intervention.
- Demonstrate planning and facilitation of surgical simulation teaching, with an emphasis on technical skills.
- Support the development of new innovations in surgical education e.g., development of interactive online resources, utilising the immersive simulation room and introducing gamification.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has full GMC registration.
- Has the ability to support students and trainees in their learning experience.
- Has sufficient surgical experience for the needs of the post.
