About us:
The School of Applied Sciences within the College of Health, Science and Society is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Physiology to support the Postgraduate Certificate in Sleep Medicine and our established Healthcare Science (Respiratory and Sleep Physiology) Practitioner Training Programmes (PTP). This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), Fixed term (3 year) post that will focus primarily on teaching and learning. Preference will be given to applicants who can evidence significant clinical experience in respiratory physiology / science.
The School of Applied Sciences runs a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including in Healthcare Science, Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, and related areas. Research within the School is supported by the Centre for Research in Biosciences (CRIB) the Institute of Biosensing Technology (IBST) and the Science Communication Unit (SCU).

About you:
Candidates will be expected to a PhD in a relevant subject or have extensive professional practice experience and a master’s level qualification. We are seeking someone to support the Postgraduate Certificate in Sleep Medicine and our established Healthcare Science (Respiratory and Sleep Physiology) Practitioner Training Programmes (PTP). Preference will be given to applicants who can evidence significant clinical experience in respiratory physiology / science.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of devising and delivering teaching and assessments, and demonstrate the ability to lead modules. Successful candidates will be expected to be actively involved in the continuous improvement of our Healthcare Science programmes and hence in shaping training for the future workforce. The post holder may also be required to support teaching teams on other programmes within the School.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – with £300m having been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation to enhance our offer even further.
