We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Fellow specialising in Molecular Biology to deliver teaching for this core topic and be involved in future development of research-informed teaching across a range of modules in both undergraduate and postgraduate Biomedicine Programmes.

The Biomedicine team delivers a suite of programmes at undergraduate and taught postgraduate levels, which carry accreditation by the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) and the Royal Society of Biology. Current undergraduate teaching is centred around Biomedical science (3-year BSc, 4 year (with Professional experience) BSc and Path-Lab based (Apprentice BSc) and Human Biology and Infectious Diseases (HBID). At postgraduate level, taught provision includes degrees in Biomedical Science, Biotechnology and Drug Discovery.

The role holder will be expected to design and deliver teaching material across a range of modules, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, including where appropriate placements. Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or enhancement and contribute to the planning, design and development of course and curriculum objectives and material. The role will also require the holder to set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students and act as personal tutor and engage in activities aimed at enhancing student experience and employability.

The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s teaching profile with a view to ensuring continuous alignment of our programmes to core curricular, placement and extra-curricular provision with employer needs, in order to enhance our student employability and experience. The role holder requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The culture and ethos of the post is directed towards applied research and team working.
