Applications are invited for a permanent post of a UCD Nancy Boland Professor in Musculoskeletal Oncology/ Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon) within UCD School of Medicine and St Vincent’s University Hospital & Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital.

The University and the Hospitals wish to expand academic leadership in Orthopaedic Oncology by attracting an outstanding clinician scientist with an internationally competitive profile in research, training and education. The appointee will join Ireland’s largest university at the country’s leading academic teaching hospital. All parties are committed to building collaborative programmes involving the community of academic and clinical staff to further develop Ireland as an internationally recognised clinical centre of excellence in Orthopaedic Oncology that enhances the quality of care for Irish patients. The UCD Nancy Boland Professor in Musculoskeletal Oncology will be based at St Vincent’s University Hospital and at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh, where they will be an academic leader working with colleagues to oversee the design, delivery, assessment and quality of modules and programmes for undergraduate and graduate students. They! will be an experienced clinical leader who will contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Oncology clinical services at the two hospitals and across the island.

Successful candidate will be appointed on the appropriate Salary scale at the first point in scale or in line with current Government pay policy and commensurate with experience.
