The University of Roehampton is seeking to appoint Visiting Lecturers to join our Life Sciences team to teach on our undergraduate programmes. We are particularly interested in people who have teaching experience & expertise in one or more of the following topics: Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, Social Anthropology, Psychology of Nutrition, Clinical Neuroscience, Public Health, Clinical Nutrition, Food Science, and/or Sport Nutrition at HE levels 4, 5, 6, and 7. The appointment/s will involve leading and delivering modules and may also involve contributing to student project supervision and pastoral care. We are also keen to hear from those with experience & expertise in supervising MSc dissertation projects on topics related to Clinical Nutrition and/or Clinical Neuroscience.

There is possibility the appointment/s might be converted to temporary fractional positions at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. This can be discussed at interview.

We encourage a blended learning approach to teaching, combining traditional lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and student-led discussions in our teaching approaches. We also support students by providing activities & material that extend beyond scheduled contact time. There are currently established resources for the majority of teaching to be covered.

Successful applicants will have experience in many of the blended teaching approaches listed above, as well as with supporting students, and marking assessments, at an undergraduate level. Experience with online platforms such as Moodle is desirable. We are seeking individuals who are: student focused; demonstrate excellent interpersonal & analytical skills; and can work flexibly.

The rate of pay for Visiting Lecturers is £43.67 per classroom contact hour plus £10.11 of holiday pay per hour. This hourly rate reflects the requirement for preparation, assessments, meetings & marking. Additional marking & moderation & content development is paid at the rate of £21.51 per hour plus £3.87 of holiday pay per hour.
